Where do you find your inspiration?

I find my inspiration EVERYWHERE! Sometimes it's so overwhelming all the sensory input that this world provides. I was at Wal-Mart yesterday, buying groceries, but I also needed some ornament hooks, so went over to the Christmas decorations area. There I saw some unusual gift wrap--kraft with blue snowflakes and some rust or burgundy ones. I loved the non-traditional color combo, all the more so because the new SU color Cajun Craze is one of my faves, and let's face it, there's not a lot of opportunity to use it around Christmas. So last night between supper and a meeting I had to go to, I banged out this card.
You know, back in the day, before we had tons of gorgeous patterned paper flooding the market, we used to stamp our own backgrounds. And that's what I did here. I used PTI's Snowflake Serenade set and stamped Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, and Cajun Craze snowflakes on Crumb Cake (SU's new kraft). Then I ran into trouble. I wanted to use my Marina Mist ribbon and brads, but the ribbon is so thick. And I should have made my brads go down the long side of the paper. I distressed the edges of the Crumb Cake and mounted it on a card base of Cajun Craze. I stamped the sent., roughed up the edges, layered and mounted. I'm pleased with this color combo and plan to make some more of these. Gotta find some better sketches to use! Thanks for dropping by!

These colors are SO great together! Even though I haven't carded in forever, I can totally relate to seeing something somewhere and it makes you feel inspired. I had that today at church. I just wanted to run home and scrap using a girl's skirt design. But I took a nap instead haha!
