Easter Sparrow

I was originally going to use this on a large card, but I like it better on the standard A2 size.  The cut is from Cricut's Spring Cottage cart.  I sponged the edges of the bird and flowers and popped the flowers up.  I added yellow stickles to the centers of the flowers.  The stamp is from SU.

I love how this turned out!  It's just a little different than your standard Easter card, but very springy.  Although in hindsight I would have embossed the sentiment--it kind of gets lost.

I hope you all have a happy Easter and a lovely spring!  If we're lucky here, all the snow may be melted before then.

Easter Bunny and Basket

Morning!  I guess since it's almost Easter, I should post some Easter cards!  I forgot to photograph the ones I made for the shut-ins at church, but I made a b-day card for a swap on the Cricut MB that is very similar and I will post that soon.

This card is made using the PTI sets Bitty Baby Blessings, Vintage Picnic and Spring Tags 2008.  I don't have the dies for either set so I trimmed the images by hand.  I wanted it to look like the bunny is about to start munching the tulips!  The bunny's tail is flocked.   CS and DP are PTI, inks and scallop die and embossing folder are SU.  Doily is Wilton.

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a fabulous day!

Another Flower

This is the basic scallop flower from Flower Shoppe, cut at 3.5".  I followed the instructions on Courtney Lane Designs to make the flower and not only was it easy, but the darn thing actually ended up looking like a rose.  Trust me, no one was more surprised than I was!  I curled the petals back after I rolled up and glued.  There's a pearl in the center.

Card base and ribbon are Wisteria Wonder; DP is very old SU.  Leaves are SU Sizzlits die, Pear Pizzazz.  Sentiment is PTI.

Have a great day!

Tag Thank You

I cased a card I found in the current issue of Cricut magazine (or Cricut Cards, not sure which).  All the DP is retired, as is the ribbon and button.  The loopy trim is some my friend Sara sent me a looooong time ago.  I've been hoarding it.

I used the Flower Shoppe Cartridge to make the flower.  I'm ordinarily not much of a flower person, but nearly every single card in both Cricut mags this month had a big fat flower on it, so I decided it was time I finally got around to trying some.  This one was very easy of course, since it only involved stacking various sizes of the same flower.  The edges of the petals and the tag are sponged.  Tag is also Cricut, I forget which cartridge but there are tons with tags.

TFL!  See ya later!

For You

I based this card on one I saw on Deconstructing Jen.  She always has great sketches, but this time she used one from Verve.  However, I pretty much followed what Jen did.

Again, I used my friend Karen's set Apothecary Art and matching dies.  The DP is old SU called Afternoon Tea.  I used my Petite Label punch and Pretty Petites set for the element in the upper left and punched a heart to go on it.  Karen made me the bow with linen thread and a fork.  Card Base is Soft Sky, other color is Wild Wasabi.  I love the colors here, but am a little lukewarm on the card.  Not sure why--maybe too much background paper.  Definitely a sketch I'll use again though.

Have a great day!

Petite Birthday

Another old Mojo Monday sketch, found HERE.  I like sketches because otherwise, my cards tend to look all alike LOL!  And this sketch is a particularly easy one;  I've used it before, HERE.  I made this card at my friend Karen's too.  But the only thing I borrowed this time was the cute little scallop punch.  I got this set, Pretty Petites, and the matching punch with my SAB goodies.  Yea me!

Colors are Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Pool Party, and last year's DP.  On the inside I stamped "the more candles the bigger the wish".

This was a fun little card to make.  Thanks for dropping by--have a creative day!

Victorian Sympathy Card

So, this card is soooo far out of my comfort zone!  I found an old Mojo Monday sketch I liked.  You can see it HERE.  And I was stamping at my friend Karen's house, and she had these dies and stamp set, which I never ordered because they were really not me!  But I thought the shape would be good for this sketch.  I also had to swap her for a piece of this color CS, Summer Starfruit, because I didn't order it because I didn't like it LOL!  But I liked the Sycamore Street DP so I wanted to use it.  This card is the final result, and I like how it turned out.  I REALLY like the font on the sentiment set, so I'll probably have to order that.  THEN, because it's meant to fit in that space there, should I order the stamp set, in which case I'll have to order the dies too?!?  They are devious, that SU crowd LOL!

Colors are Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, and Whisper White.  In fact I think everything is current SU--how about that?!  Thanks for taking a look--have a great day!

Daring Surfer

Here is the the daring adventure quote again.  I wondered how it would look embossed over the splotch from Extreme Elements.  I inked up the splotch with a Kaleidacolor pad and embossed the quote in orange.

I used the K-pad on the surfer as well.  Both of those are from SU, and the hibiscus stamped in Versamark on Bermuda Bay is from Verve.  Card Base is Cool Caribbean.  I love this color combo.

Well that's it for today!  Happy stamping!

Two Storks

Awhile back my friend Karen gave me some "welcome baby" cardstock sentiment strips she had left over from a Stampin' Up! grab bag I think.  So I built cards around them!  I'd been wanting to try this Cricut stork, from A Child's Year.

I used my Cricut markers to outline each stork first in black, then cut it out.  I used some embossing folders.  The little stars one is actually a Hobby Lobby brand one.  Swiss dots is CB, little hearts SU.  The border dies on both cards are SU.  All CS is SU except for bases which are PTI.

Colors are Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, and Chocolate Chip.  I used little button brads on the boy card instead of ribbon.

Here they are together.  I am very pleased with how these turned out!  Thanks for dropping by!

Daring Adventure

I love this quote from Helen Keller.  I bought the whole set just to get it!  And I love blue and orange together.  Ink and layer is Pumpkin Pie.  Pinked Circle is Night of Navy.  Card Base is Gina K Kraft.  Designer paper is retired SU of course!

I thought it would be a good congrats card for an Eagle scout.

Have a wonderful day full of crafting!

Another Masculine Card

This is a birthday card for a male.  There are a lot of hunters in KS, so I thought this image would be good.  The card base is Gina K Tan Leather.  All else is SU--ink and layers are Early Espresso.

I did some distressing here and there and added a metal clip and some hemp.

Thanks for looking!

A little Love Note

I made this card hoping for a little masculine flair.  DP is Eat Cake. Colors are Wile Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, and Poppy Parade.  Card base is PTI.  I used SU's Fashionable Hearts Embosslit for the little houndstooth heart.

This card turned out cute, if a little plain, but men don't like a lot of frou-frou.  Even the heart may be too much LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have an awesome day!

Birthday Wishes

This is a very simple card!  I used the Sycamore Street paper and ribbon on a Lucky Limeade card base.  Butterflies are die cut from Island Indigo and Pool Party.  Stamp set is from SU.  The inside reads, in the same font, "Not just another year older, but a year better."

I just love the colors on this paper!

What are your crafting plans for today?

Easter Wishes

Here is another card with my darling Hearts Aflutter dies and the Tea for Two paper.

Colors are Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, and Lucky Limeade.  All supplies are SU except card base (PTI), and I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks for looking!  Have a wonderful day!
