Snail Mail

Okay, here's another darling wooden shape card.  Guess what, you're probably going to be seeing a lot of these LOL!  Card base is Calypso Coral, layer is So Saffron.  The color coach said to use Daffodil Delight, but that just seemed too bright.  The DP is some from Imaginisce that I have been hoarding.  I just love mushrooms--they are so cute and also delicious!

I punched through the DP/So Saffron layer and placed my snail, which I embellished with a button tied with yellow hemp.  The shell is not detailed and needed something--a stamped or punched flower would be cute too.

The sentiment is from PTI's Pond Life Sentiments and is one I love to use with turtles and snails for belated birthday cards.  It says "Happy Belated Birthday" on the inside, from the same set.  Little flower punch is from SU.

And FYI, I just got a big haul from SU, which I'll be playing with today, including two new butterfly punches and a butterfly set to match, so expect to be smothered in butterflies!

Thinking of You

Okay, everyone, RUN, do not walk, to Michael's and buy some of these AMAZING laser cut wooden shapes from their Recollections brand.  They are SO sweet!  On these I inked the edges with Old Olive and then sprayed them with shimmer mist, though you can't see the shimmer in the pic.  The BG is long-retired Stipple Plaid, and I embossed the sentiment.  I think this would be a perfect thinking of you card for a guy, and not bad for a woman either.

They have several styles of shapes.  I got the leaves, some garden critters, like bees and snails, and some butterflies in all different sizes.  You can stamp on them, ink them, etc.  One caveat:  if you are going to spray them, do that first and let it dry.  I stamped some script on a large butterfly and then sprayed it and the ink smudged, even though I used STAZ ON.  But my shimmer mist was alcohol based, so there you go.  My bad.

Thanks for dropping by today!  I plan to craft today until it warms up a bit and then the hubs and I are going to work in the yard.  Hope you have a great day!

Tea For Two Swap Card

This was my swap for my stamp club meeting last Sunday.  Did you know SU is redoing their colors AGAIN?1?!  Well, this time I am not buying all the new colors.  I am going to use up my old ones first.  By that time they will have changed the colors YET AGAIN!  I don't really mind so much except that they're getting rid of two of my fave blues--Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy.  I can hardly even make a card without Baja, and NQN is one of my go-to masculine colors.  Grrr...

Anyway, this card uses Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade, and Bashful Blue CS.  (Bash Blue is also going away).  The patterned paper is Tea For Two, which I adore.  The embossing folder is new from SU, in their spring mini.  The ribbon I got from their clearance rack.  Huh--now I know why!  Come to think of it, everything on this card is SU and current except the ribbon.  How about that?  I can do it when I want to LOL!

Thanks for looking!

The Cow Jumped Over the Moon

I have a sad, sad little confession--I bought myself a Cricut Mini.  It was ON SALE!!!  This is the model that you hook up to the computer and use with Cricut Craft Room.  I can hook up my big Cricut too of course, but I thought it would be nice to have a small one that just lives next to the computer.  Anyhow, it comes with some exclusive images, one of which is this darling cow jumping over the moon.  For some reason, that nursery rhyme has always been one of my favorites.

I had this cute baby paper from ages ago and I thought it would be perfect for this card.  I cut the images at 2.5".  The card is a standard A@.  Card base is Wisteria Wonder.  A litttle border punch and a yellow ribbon makes a nice unisex baby card.  On the inside I stamped "Welcome, little one" from PTI's Bitty Baby Blessings.

The stars are cut from glitter CS, and the edges of the moon are sponged in Bashful Blue.

Thanks for stopping by today--have a good one!

Blue Sympathy

This is the last card for my large card swap, the second sympathy.  The bleeding heart with butterfly is from the Botanicals cartridge.  The label is from Art Philosophy (I think--either that or Artiste).  The sentiment is from PTI's Out on a Limb Sentiments, and on the inside I used one from SU's Thoughts and Prayers.  Colors are Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze.  I sponged the edges of the flower with Soft Suede.

This card is a little plain but pretty I think.  I hope my partner likes these cards.

Have a fun and creative day!

Old Timey Car

When my brothers and I were little we referred to vintage cars as "old timey cars".  This is also for my large card swap.  I used the Wrap It Up cartridge and (let's all say it together now!) some retired SU DP.

The stamps are SU as well.  I just love orange and blue together.  I love how this card turned out!  Hope you do too.  TFL!

Adult Birthday

So for my large card swap partner I made 2 adult birthday cards.  She didn't specify male or female so I made one of each.  I used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and the stamp that matches for the cupcake, and Artiste and matching stamp for the banner.  I heat embossed the icing and greeting.  On the inside I used and SU stamp set with the words "Keep Calm and eat a cupcake".

I'm not really thrilled with this card.  I made it last and was out of ideas.  It is very hard to fill up that much space--a problem I'm familiar with from making cards for the shut-in church members.  Those have to be big enough for everyone who comes to church that Sunday to sign, which is why I usually use Cricut on these cards rather than stamps--you can make Cricut images as large as you want!

Thanks for looking!

A Roarin' Good Birthday

Good morning!  This is the child birthday card I made for my swap partner.  I just LOVE that little lion!  I embossed his mane.  The SU stamp is meant to be colored in according to how old the recipient is.  The DP is old SU.  I think it was called Jersey Shore and was one of the few collections they made where I liked every single pattern--these are my colors for sure!

I added green stickles to the pom pom on the lion's party hat.  I think the little clip came from Wal-mart.  On the inside I put a computer generated sentiment "have a roarin' good time on your birthday".  I used the Brady Bunch font--fun!  Card base is Bashful Blue.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Daffodil Sympathy

I made this card for a swap I'm in on the Cricut MB.  They do swaps differently over there than on SCS.  On the Cricut MB you do partner swaps.  You're assigned a partner and they tell you what they want (within the theme of the swap) and you send it to them.  And vice versa.  The theme was large cards.  My partner wanted 2 sympathy, 2 adult birthday, and 1 child birthday.  Over the next couple of weeks I'll be posting the results here.

All my cards measure 8.5" x 5.5"--a whole sheet of CS folded in half.  This card is a variation on the Easter cards I made for the shut-in members of our congregation.  The difference is, instead of the upper, smaller butterfly there was a cut that sait "He is risen".  The cartridges I used here are Art Nouveau (daffodil) and MS Elegant Cakes (butterflies).  The leaves use Old Olive and Certainly Celery, and the flowers use PTI's Lemon Tart and SU's Whisper White for the centers.  I sponged the lemon with a darker yellow around the edges and the white with a pale yellow for a little more realism. The leaves are also sponged, and I added yellow Stickles to the flowers and butterfly antennae.  The inside is stamped with a large PTI sentiment.  Many of the layers here are popped up.

Hope you all enjoyed this card!  Thanks for dropping by!

Baby Bunny Card

This card came about because I wanted to see how this bunny would look embossed in white on Crumb Cake (aka kraft) CS.  I used liquid pearls on the nose and flocking on the tail.  The card base is SU Pool Party which, as it turns out, is a perfect match for PTI's Aqua Mist, the color of PTI DP I used.  The doily die is from MFT, edge punch is SU.

The ribbon is PTI and I die cut and stamped the little tag from PTI's Tiny Tags set.  The bunny is from Bitty Baby Blessings.  I used DMC floss for the bow on the tag.

Thanks for dropping by today--hope you have some creative time today!
