Happy New Year with a Lobster!

Has anyone ever said that to you before?!?  Well, now I have!  I hope everyone's New Year has started out great!  I have to go to work in a bit but thought I'd try to get up a blog post before then.  I got some creative time yesterday and played with my new favorite SU set,  By the Tide.

Truthfully, I am not a big lobster person.  I don't care for it as food, and let's face it, there are a lot of other cuter sea creatures out there.  So I wanted to challenge myself to use it.  I knew I wanted to use my retired SU nautical paper and my Tim Holtz compass rose embossing folder.  So right off the bat, that's a masculine card, which I love to do!  I messed around with the lobster image for a while and finally decided to do some tone-on-tone embossing.  I used versamark and clear EP on Cherry Cobbler.  I also tried embossing with Cherry Cobbler on Calypso Coral.  It looked good, but not masculine, so I went with the first one.  Layer is Night of Navy.  Sketch is from Reverse Confetti SFYTT.  I kept it very basic--it's a little plain, but that's ok for a masculine card.  I left the inside blank for now so I can use it as needed.

Did you make any New Year's resolutions?  I didn't, as I never keep them!  I do plan to try to lose some weight--who doesn't, right?  Hope you have a wonderful day!
