FCCB Challenge # 208--April Showers

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #208 April Showers

This Weeks Sponsor

Winner will receive their choice of 3 digital images

Good morning!  Today I have a get-well card to share with you--our theme is April Showers and we were to use an umbrella on our card.  There are so many ways to use an umbrella, and I almost went with a baby shower card, but decided I'd probably be able to use a get well card sooner LOL.

This adorable little gal is cut from the Create a Friend cart at 3".  I used a Darice embossing folder for the BG.  The stamp is PTI, and I used SU's modern label punch to stamp it on.  Colors are Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Poppy Parade, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, and Blush Blossom.

So how can you participate?  Easy!  Just create a project using an umbrella and at least one Cricut cut and link it up to FCCB!  You could win a prize from Crafty Sentiments Designs.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Two of a Kind

As I said last week, 2005-2006 was a good year for great pix of fun activities!  This is Matt with his best friend from Wilmington, Hunter.  They were at an indoor rock-climbing wall.

Here I've used the nifty Pro Player WOTG from the falll-winter 2013 CTMH catty.  You can still get the paper and embellies, just not the stamp set.  I used the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge for the overlays, frames, title, and large star.  The small stars are left over from the overlays and frames.  The pinked circle and the banners came from CTMH Artiste.  I actually CASE'd this LO from Noreen.  She does awesome work!

All the papers, CS and inks are CTMH, except for the black craft ink from SU, which I embossed in black.  Colors are Ruby Red, Pacifica, and Honey.  I used a couple of embossing folders on the banners on the lefthand page--one SU and the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate one.

These boys were so great together.  Of all the things I miss about Wilmington, splitting these two up is the thing I regret the most.

I had so much fun making these pages!  The paper is awesome and I will be ordering more of it.  In other news, we had a wonderful Easter weekend.  On Saturday we went to Old Cowtown (Emily's favorite--I had never been!)  What an awesome place that is--especially for this Laura Ingalls Wilder fan!  I bet I've read her books a hundred times, and there it was, all laid out IRL!

Sunday afternoon we went to the Bartlett Arboretum to hear Peter and the Wolf and Appalachian Spring in an outdoor concert.  The gardens were gorgeous!  And so was the music.  We got great pix at Cowtown, but I forgot my camera on Sunday, so I took lots of pix with my phone.  I hope they turn out!  More scrapbooking material LOL.

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a fun and creative week!

FCCB Challenge # 207--Easter

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #207 Easter or use a Bunny

Aurora Wings Etsy Store

Winner will receive $10 in digital images

Good Morning!  I hope everyone had a lovely Easter!  Today's challenge was to make an Easter card, and I had this lovely digital stamp from Aurora Wings to use.  I sized it in my word processing program, printed it out on SU Whisper White, and colored with markers.  Then I fussy cut it out.

I was thinking of Charleston, Savannah, and New Orleans--the lovely wrought ironwork they have in those cities, and how gorgeous they look in the spring when everything is blooming.  So I decided to use my much neglected Ornamental Iron cartridge.  I cut this gate at 5.5" high.  There was a row of little square cutouts at the bottom which I trimmed off.  I layered it onto some yellow floral patterned paper and placed my image over it, but it looked too stark, so I added a layer of vellum cardstock.  It softened up the wrought iron and allowed the image to really pop.  Since glue shows through vellum, I attached it with brads.  I embossed Easter Wishes from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages on the vellum in black.

Please play along with us at FCCB this week!  Just make a project using Easter or a bunny and at least one Cricut cut and upload it to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog--that's all there is to it!  You could win $10 worth of digi images from Aurora Wings!

Thanks for dropping by today!  Have a wonderful week!

Scrapbook Page of My Adorable Daughter!

Do you have scads of old photos in boxes or on your computer?  So many that you almost don't even know what you've got anymore?  And then when you start going through them it's like finding buried treasure!  That's an experience I had recently.  It started several months ago when my husband changed jobs and brought home all the photos he'd had up in his cubicle.  One was this photo of Emily which I'd totally forgotten about.  I didn't see it even then as it just stayed in the box with the rest of his stuff.  Then my resident snoop, aka Emily, went through the box and found this pic.  She then went and found it on the computer and brought it to my attention.  It was taken the summer after we moved to a new house in Wilmington in 2006, about 15 months before we moved to KS.  Emily was 4, and her cat Kali was half-grown.

I used the Balloon Ride Workshop on the Go kit from CTMH.  I LOVE that vintage hot-air balloon paper, and the colors worked well with the pic.  All the papers, stamps and accessories (except the ribbon-PTI) are CTMH.  I used SU's Crumb Cake ink on the title because I didn't have the appropriate color in CTMH ink.  I used the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy and Artbooking cartridges for the Cricut shapes.

Here is a detail of the tag.

The little resin buttons and the rhinestone flourishes come in the kit!

All the stamps except for the doily came from the stamp set that's included with the kit.  The doily is Lovely and Sweet, one of the sets that comes with the Cricut Artbooking Collection.

The Workshop on the Go kit includes instructions for 2 two-page layouts.  I modified one page of one of the LO's.  I am SO pleased with how it came out!  You can order it at my CTMH website HERE.  And don't forget, in April if you sign up as a CTMH consultant, you get a FREE Cricut collection of your choice!

I printed out some other old pics from that same year (it was a really good year for pics!) and plan to work on some more LO's today--wish me luck!  To tell you the truth, I'm kind of rusty at scrapbooking and I'm sort of re-learning how to do it, so wish me luck!  Thanks for taking a look!

FCCB Challenge # 206--A Sketch Challenge!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #206 Sketch Challenge

This Weeks Sponsor

Winner will receive 3 Digital Images.

Good morning all!  This week's challenge uses a sketch.  I am a big fan of sketches as a jumping off point for creativity, especially if your mojo isn't working very well at the moment!  That happens to me all too often I'm afraid.  Here is the sketch:

And here's my card!  Ink, cardstock, and patterned paper are all CTMH, as is the stamp set--called Give a Lift.  The pearls are Recollections, embossing Folder is Cuttlebug.  The border is a cut from the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge.

I like how the white core of the CS shows through on the embossed piece!  I distressed and sponged all the edges, and colored my image with blender pens and CTMH ink pads.

Please play along with us at FCCB!  Just make a project using this sketch and at least one Cricut cut.  Then upload it to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog--that it!  Easy-peasy.

If you would like to order this beautiful stamp set or the CTMH Artbooking cartridge, you may do so at my webpage.

Thanks for dropping by today--have a great week!

CTMH Designed Decor Frame Project

Hello everyone!  I am so excited to share a project I created on Saturday!  This is the CTMH Designed Decor Frame Kit.  I ordered it last month and finally got around to putting it together.  It was fast, fun, and easy, and I LOVE the way it turned out!

These pictures were taken way back during spring break of 2007.  We were still living in Wilmington then, and we flew to California to visit my brother and his wife.  It truly was one of the best vacations I have ever taken--we did so many fun things!  I had scrapbooked a lot of these adventures already, but I thought these pix would be perfect for this project.  Matt was a few months shy of 9 and Ems was about to turn 5.  Most of these pix were taken at Point Lobos State Reserve, and a couple were taken at a winery that we visited.

All the nifty kraft die cuts came with the kit, along with a fun stamp set, mini clothespins, and some baker's twine.  I cut the letters out of black CS with my Cricut.  You can click on each photo for a larger view.

I did use a few other CTMH stamp sets to supplement my phrases.

You can also buy the frame separately if you don't want the whole kit.  The CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge has a Polaroid-type frame cut on it.  Art Philosophy has the pennants, and Artiste has the word balloon cuts.

I love this pic of Ems and me!  I also LOVE the photo of Matt and Ems--they were still friends then.  They can't stand each other right now, most of the time.  And Brad looks so relaxed and happy in his pic!  That part of CA is truly beautiful.  Everyone should visit!

If you would like to order this awesome kit, you may do so at my CTMH website.  The number is Z1911.

This month's CTMH special really IS special--sign up as a consultant for $99 and in addition to the new consultant's kit pictured below, you also get a FREE CTMH Cricut Collection of your choice!  Regular price is $99 for a Cricut Collection, and each includes 3 stamp sets and 3 sheets of coordinating chipboard embellishments.  This is a fabulous deal!

Here's what comes in the new consultant kit:

And if you spend $50 on CTMH merchandise, you are eligible for the April Stamp of the Month--Balloon Talk! Take a look at the example below.  It's so cute!

Well, that's all I have for today!  Thanks for dropping by and taking a look.  I really did have fun making this project.  Thinking about making some for Christmas presents.  Have a fun and crafty day!

FCCB Challenge #205--Spring Cleaning

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #205 Spring Cleaning

This Weeks Sponsor
Silly Shells Stamp Set

Hi, everyone!  Today's challenge is Spring Cleaning--use a cartridge or a cut you've never used before.  I've had the New Testament cartridge for a long time now, and I really like it, but just have never used it yet.  I always make Easter cards for our shut-ins at church for the whole congregation to sign, and these are the cards for this year.  The draped cross is from New Testament, and the label shape is from Edge to Edge.  I hid the lattice work so it would be a solid piece.

The cards are 8.5" x 5.5" so they will be large enough for lots of signatures.  Patterned paper is SU's Watercolor Wonder, still available in the Occasions mini through May I believe.  CS is Pool Party, Gumball Green, Groovy Guava (SU) and Lemon Tart (PTI).  I used CTMH Daisy for the drape on the cross.  Stamp is from ODBD.  On the inside I stamped John 3:16, also ODBD, and a retired Happy Easter from SU.

Please play along with us at FCCB this week!  It's easy--just create a project using at least one Cricut cut and link it up to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  You could win a stamp set from our fantabulous sponsor--Mark's Finest Papers.

Thanks for dropping by today--have a great week!
