Another Cricut Little Boy Card

This one is for the brother of yesterday's card recipient who is turning 6. The robot is cut using the Robotz cartridge at 3". Patterned paper is old Scenic Route. All CS is SU: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, and Pumpkin Pie. Gear is Tim Holtz. On the inside I computer-generated "Happy Birthday, Human", which I stole from a discontinued SU set that I didn't get. Next time maybe I'll add a balloon or cupcake to his hand, but I think it's pretty cute as is.

Have a creative day!

Super Scrap-a-Thon sketch # 15

Here is another entry for the Scrap Friendzy Super Sketch-a-thon. This one would have been very quick and simple had I not dropped a glue coated letter onto one of the photos! Had to wait for a new photo to be printed. Paper and arrows are Scenic Route (Metropolis I think). Chipboard letters and stars are SU. Base is Real Red, SU. Hope you got some crafting time in today!

Mojo 77--2nd post today--scroll down!

This is my entry for Mojo Monday. It's kind of plain, but you don't want a lot of frills on a boy card. I compensated with some Hodgepodge Hardware. CS is Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point, DP is Scenic Route. Ink is Stazon Black, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, Blush Blossom, Barely Banana, More Mustard. Freckles are dotted on with a Chocolate Chip marker.

Thanks for looking!

Getting Sentimental--Flourishes Contest!

Hi, everyone! There is a contest going on over at Flourishes, and you don't even have to own any Flourishes stamps to play, which is great, because I don't, even though I love Flourishes stamps. Check out the contest here! I found out about it from Latisha's blog. Latisha is one of our regular PTI swappers, PLUS she is on the design team for Flourishes stamps. Thanks for the heads up Latisha! It is called "Getting Sentimental". You are supposed to make your sentiment your focal point. This is a really neat thing to do, especially with all the amazing background papers that are out there now.

Well, as you may have noticed by now, I love color and lots of it! The brighter the better! One of my fave color combos is blue and orange--electrifying! Energizing! And that's what I need most days--I am such a slug! This first card I wanted a masculine tone for. All products are SU except brads, which are Bazzill. The DP is retired I think it is called Jersey Shore. Colors are Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue, and Wild Wasabi.

This next card couldn't be more different--very soft and feminine. I had actually had this BG piece lying around for some time--just hadn't used it for anything. Thought it would be perfect for this contest. I chalked the embossed flowers (Cuttlebug), embossed the greeting on vellum, and covered my glue dots with buttons! CS is Stampers Select White from PTI, Pink Pirouette and Vellum CS from SU. Ribbon is SU, buttons are from my stash, fiber is good old DMC.

This card I made a couple days ago for my brother's birthday. He is in Iraq. Again with the blue and orange! This time I used Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, and Tangerine Tango, along with some old Scenic Route DP that matches those colors really well. I used an old Mojo Monday sketch for the layout. Since SU doesn't make markers in their In Colors, I had to cut and paste these images to get them multicolored. First I stamped "B is for Birthday" in Kiwi, then Pacific, then Tangerine. Cut out the "b" and layered it over the kiwi image, then punched out the asterisk from the tangerine and layered it over the "b". Did the same with the party hats. For the circle I used my Marvy punch, then attached the punched scallop circle to a strip of CS to put it back in the punch, lining up the scallops with the points of the punch, that way you get a pinked circle--more masculine I think. I think this card sort of fits with the Getting Sentimental theme of the contest.
Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to stamp today!

Super Boy!

It's a bird, it's a plane...No, it's Super Boy and Friend! This is the Billy Set from Pink Cat Studio. I just love the little dog with his cape and mask! The CS is SU Blue Bayou (ret.), Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze, PTI Stamper's Select White. Ink is the same, plus Barely Banana and More Mustard (watercolored his hair), Blush Blossom (face) and Close to Cocoa for the dog. DP is Scenic Route. For the medallion at lower left I punched out a scallop circle using my SU punch and then (here's the trick) adhered a thin scrap to the back of my punched circle to use as a handle to put the punched piece back in the punch. You line the points up in the middle of the scallops and punch and you get a circle with points instead of scallops! My SU buddies here in Wichita taught me that! I thought it went well with this card. Brads are HL I think. I had fun making this card. Hope you enjoyed it. Have a great weekend!

Surprise Pop-Up Get Well Card

Here is another surprise pop-up card I had actually made a while back, but was reminded of it by the PTI blog hop. The tutorial may be found HERE. Front of card is covered with Scenic Route patterned paper. Sets used are Pond Life and Pond Life Sents by Papertrey Ink. Colors are Certainly Celery, Old Olive, and Cool Caribbean by SU. Lemon Tart Satin ribbon by PTI, Pink polka dot is from Michaels. Tiny brads are Queen and Co., flowers are unknown. Poor little turtle, he's on his back and all stressed out!

When you pull on the ribbons, it opens to reveal: "Slow down and get well soon."

This is a fun card to make, and very easy if you follow the instructions. Hope you all enjoyed it--thanks for looking!

Winter Fun with Lily and Tweet

Good Thursday morning, happy stampers! Did everyone spend lots of bucks at the PTI release party last night? Recession? What recession?
This card uses an image from Lily and Tweet by Pink Cat Studio. I just adore Melissa's Billy and Lily images. They are so cute! Here I watercolored Lily, Tweet, and their cool friend using SU colors. Card base is Bali Breeze, layers are Blue Bayou (SU retired), and Pumpkin Pie. Patterned paper is Scenic Route. Die cut is Sizzix out of Blue Bayou and coated with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, brad is round Ice rhinestone from SU. Fur trim on Lily's outfit is flocked and I added glitter to the bottom of the image.
Hope you enjoyed looking at this card as much as I enjoyed making it!
