Awash with Flowers Birthday

This is one of the new sets from Stampin' Up!, Awash With Flowers. I cased this card from HERE. I used Apricot Appeal, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, Old Olive, and Palette Burnt Umber inks, AA and CC CS. This is a fun set, you don't have to worry about getting it lined up and it still looks great. DP and brads are retired SU. I used the set Happy Everything on the inside for the sentiment. I drew the body and antennae on the butterfly with a marker. Nesties were used for the ovals. Thanks for looking!

Wedding Card

One of the women I work with is getting married so I got to make a wedding card. It's not something I do a lot of and don't really have any "just wedding" type stamp sets or anything. One of my cricut cartridges, Stretch Your Imagination, had some wedding images on it. I liked this one. I cut the blackout in Blush Blossom, then the layers in black, white and vellum. I Cuttlebugged the vellum with Swiss Dots and layered it over the white. I had to trim under the bride's arms on the Blush layer. Then I layered that over some retired SU swirl vellum, over PTI Plum Pudding, card base is Lavender Moon. I am down to my last few sheets of those colors and I won't reorder them; they are my least favorite PTI colors. But they're pretty for a wedding card. I used MTME stamp set So Sentimental plus the matching cut file for the sentiment, and the inside sent is from the same set. Border punch and rhinestone brads are SU. I just got back from the shower. She really liked the card---was fascinated by the texture. I had made 2 sets, one with the swirl vellum overlay for the dress, but I'm glad I went with the dots. I took Emily with me; she was so excited. After we'd been there for a while she whispered to me, "I thought there would be a lot more people here, and that we'd have it in a big white tent outside." I told her she'd been watching too much TV and that bridal and baby showers were usually more like this one than like that! She is so funny.

Get well card for a friend

A dear friend of mine in NC is very ill. He works at the hospital where I used to work, but his true love is farming, which he did in his spare time. He took my kids on tractor rides. He also did pig pickin's for people. That's what Southerners call barbecue--it's all pork down there, not beef. So anyway, I wanted to use this retired set from SU for his get well card. I just love this pig with his thermometer, and the sentiment! Cracks me up, but then again, I'm easily amused. So I had my set, then I had to go on what my college roomie Julia used to call a "quest". Any other year there'd be a ton of barbecue themed papers, but this year, when I need one? No way. I did find this one called Farmer's Market, which is really cute! It had one lone reference to BBQ sauce right smack in the middle of the page, so I made sure it was on the card front and visible! I used my PTI ric rac die to make some gingham ric rac and added three buttons. Hope it's not too girly. DH said, he'll like it because you made it. I know he's right. Colors are Real Red and Ballet Blue. I stamped the image on Whisper White in Palette Noir and colored with blender pens and ink pads. Hope you've enjoyed this card today--thanks for looking!

Card # 3 for my church lady friend

I just got this cool Cuttlebug Embossing folder. I absolutely love it, only trouble is, I don't want to cover it up! So I just added the sentiment (a very tiny one!) in some Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware. Before I embossed the CS, I stamped it with the Linen BG stamp (ret. SU) in Sahara Sand ink. What a great neutral color that is--it goes with literally everything, but looks esp. good (to me) with cool colors. Embossed, then distressed with SS. Layered onto Taken With Teal. Holy serendipitous recycling, Batman! I found this scrap in with my So Saffron CS when I was making the card posted below. I trimmed it down, slapped it on a card with some ribbon, stamped HB inside and behold, card # 2 for my auction winner. Inks are Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive, set is the gorgeous Inspired by Nature (SU). I seem to be using a lot of SU sets lately--my PTI ones are kind of collecting dust these days. Elzybells Thinking of You

This is a card I made for the lady who won my "Year of Cards" donation to the scholarship fund auction at our church last fall. She is going to send it to the same lady that I sent a card to who is going through some rough times. Stamp set is Elzybells Floral Fervour. I embossed the flowers in white and stamped the stems in SU's Garden Green on So Saffron. DP is retired SU Looks Like Spring. Flowers are punched out with the punch that went with the LLS stamp set, which I think I ebayed, couldn't find it yesterday in any case. Layer is Chocolate Chip. On the inside I stamped a sentiment from SU's Thoughts and Prayers, an excellent all around thinking of you set. SU border punch and Nesties also used.

This is a birthday card I made for the boy across the street. He is turning 8 today. He always has half the town at his parties, so instead of getting him another toy for his mom to pick up or trip over, I get him a gift card for an activity. This year it is a bowling alley/go-cart place. I copied this card out of a Cricut idea book I got on sale at HL. I think it is so cute! Cartridge is Graphically Speaking. The license plate is one of the tires in blackout mode cut out of white. I found a license plate font and printed HB2U on it. There is a brad on the left under the headlight so it can swing open. Inside I made a pocket for the gift card. I stamped "enjoy the ride" from PTI's Everyday Button Bits on the pocket on the inside. The headlights are 3/4" circles punched from yellow and covered with glitter, popped up on foam tape. Car body is metallic red (Bazzill? I got it at my LSS.)
