Loss of Child Sympathy Card

The daughter of a friend of ours miscarried in her third trimester. Any parent knows the loss of a child is the worst thing that could ever happen to a person. So I made this card for her. Size is 5.75 squared since 10 people have to sign it. Stamp set is With Sympathy Loss of Child Addition. Card base is SU Soft Sky textured CS (retired). White layer is PTI Stamper's Select White, embossed with the CB Swiss Dots embossing folder. Labels are from the assortment of die cut labels Latisha sent me--I brayered the larger one Soft Sky for a layer. Buttons are from stash, ribbon is retired SU Soft Sky.

May you never need to make or receive a card like this.

Mushroom Card--2nd post today--scroll down!

This card I made from the mushroom images that Latisha sent me a while back. This image is from a Unity kit of the month--see it HERE. Mushroom stamps seem to be getting popular--maybe they are the new owls--at least I hope so, since I am not an owl person. She sent me two, so I watercolored both, cut out the top on one and popped it up on dimensionals. Red dots and windows have crystal effects on them (it actually shows up in the pic for once--amazing!) CS, DP, and buttons are all SU (DP is Cutie Pie--retired).

I had fun making this card, and since it says "hello" on it under the little flower, I am sending it to my (real life) sis, along with some High Hopes images that monkeymama over on SCS sent me. My sister Linda and I both love HH stamps--check them out HERE. Alas, so many stamp companies, so little time, and such limited funds LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cards from my PTI Secret Sister

I wanted to show you two beautiful cards from my PTI Secret Sister, whom I now know is Latisha--check out her blog HERE. I feel so lucky to have drawn her because she is a guest designer for Flourishes, a very cool stamp company. Here she has used PTI Lavender Moon CS and Bitty Dots designer paper, Nestabilities dies and that gorgeous crocheted ribbon! I NEED some of that! I love this egg image, so elegant and springy.

This card is made with Jenni Bowlin Designer papers, and Latisha was kind enough to send me some! Can't wait to try them out. The sentiment is from Friends till the End stamp set from PTI. The flowers were made (I think!) by distressing and layering circles of the DP. Latisha always puts such cool details on her cards, and they almost always have a gorgeous bow. You can check out way better pix of her card and details HERE. Check out her bow-tying video HERE.

Easter Eggs and a Green Thumb Gift

Nothing like posting Easter decorations on Easter, when it's too late for anyone to be inspired! Maybe you can use this for next year. You know the little doo-dahs they put in egg decorating kits to put around the bottom of your eggs? Well, I made my own with cardstock and the PTI set Tags for Spring, which I love! These pix don't do these justice, they are much cuter in real life, but I had a little girl going through post-sugar-high meltdown and just didn't have time to fool with getting better ones. I cut my CS strips 1.5 " by 5.75 ", but it would be a good idea to measure around your egg with your cs before cutting. Stamped the tags and punched them out, adhered them to the cardstock stand and voila! A cute Easter treat. CS: Stamper's Select White, Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, and Raspberry Fizz (and RF Mix) all by PTI. Ink: Same as above plus Lavender Moon. Accessories, 1.75 " circle punch by EK Success, Blue Scallop Circle punch by Marvy Uchida, unknown rhinestones, pink Stickles, white EP.

I actually made this cute little boot a long time ago in the midst of winter, and finally got some neat gardening stuff to put in it for a gift for my next-door neighbor. This is the Stocking Stuffer free download from My Timeless Templates. I made it look like the boot from PTI's Green Thumb set (which I don't have). I used Polka Dot Basics in Berry Sorbet on Sweet Blush CS. Tag is from Tags for Spring and the close up I took came out blurry, but it says Welcome Spring around the edge of the tag. Ribbon is Sweet Blush Satin, tag is attached to the bow with embroidery floss. The green thing sticking up is a cute little dragon fly that you are supposed to stick in a flower pot with your plant. There is some gardening soap and some gloves that just matched the colors so perfectly!

Hope everyone had a happy and blessed Easter! Thanks for stopping by!

A Luscious Dessert?

Don't you just love these two colors together? They are Raspberry Fizz and Lemon Tart, both by PTI. They look and sound like something delicious to eat! A raspberrry-lemon tart? A lemon-raspberry fizz? A parfait perhaps? As Donkey said in the movie Shrek, "What is a parfait anyway?"

Today I finally got to sit down and make a card. I combined the Mojo Monday Sketch (#81) for this week with Sara's Perfect Match Color Challenge, which this week is to use Raspberry Fizz Mix DP. These colors are so cheery together! I used Party Hearty by SU and Birthday Basics by PTI. CS is Lemon Tart, Raspberry Fizz, and Stamper's Select White by PTI. Ink is Rasp. Fizz and Lemon Tart. Ribbon is PTI, flowers and bling are unknown.

Thanks for stopping by--hope I've made you hungry!

ElzyBells Easter Card

I ordered these cute stamps from ElzyBells just before the beginning of my NO-spending spree. It has really been easier than I thought and very satisfying seeing what I can do with the materials I have on hand. CS and DP are SU, ribbon is celery twill that was a Sale-a-Bration reward from this year, dies used are Spellbinders, border punch is SU, image colored with markers (Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie, and Rose Red) and sky and grass are watercolored with Cert. Cel. and Bashful Blue. Egg Shell is coated with Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitterand popped up on dimensionals. Very sparkly in real life. Cute little embellies are Dew Drops, have had them for a while and hadn't used them, thought they'd be perfect here. Hope you've enjoyed looking--thanks for stopping by!

52 Sketches # 11

Hi, all, I am a couple weeks behind with my 52 sketches. Sorry about the glare on the photo. This was taken Mother's Day last year. Botanica, the botanical gardens here in Wichita, has no admission on MD, so we went for the first time that day. We have been a couple times since then. I love that place, it is AWESOME! (With apologies to Teresa!) Anyway, I got this new DP (Parisian Breeze and Walk in the Park) a couple weeks ago (Don't worry Jen, it was ordered BEFORE I started my no craft spending run) and it is so beautiful. I was going through pix on the computer and ran across this one--looked perfect for this DP! Next I checked 52 Weeks 52 Sketches, and found the perfect sketch--# 11. Colors are Baja Breeze, Whisper White, and Pretty in Pink. I used Technique Tuesday's Savannah Alphabet and embossed the title in white on Baja Breeze. I love their alphas, you can stamp cursive titles with ease! Used the Martha Stewart Picket Fence Border Punch and buttons from SU, PTI, and my stash along the border. Pink Flower is a Pretties from SU, dyed with Regal Rose reinker. Large yellow flower is Heidi Swapp, as is the blue, but it used to be white, I dyed and sponged it with Baja Breeze. Butterfly stamp is from a new SU set, will edit to add the name later.

Thanks for looking!
