Current PTI Swap Regular Card

Here is my regular card for the PTI swap I'm in over on SCS, hosted by the wonderful Banu. I hosted the last round, and one of the swappers, Tree, sent me a bunch of this snazzy PTI patterned paper. Then I saw a wonderful sketch on p. 22 of the July-August issue of Papercrafts and it just spoke to me, and told me to use this paper! I stitched around the bottom panel on my sewing machine with black thread, used nesties and my cricut for the scallop circle and circle, and Everyday Button Bits and Mega Mixed Messages for the focal point. I used my Old Olive marker to ink up just 2 of the stems, punched flowers out of Pure Poppy (PTI) and Baja Breeze (SU), which seems to be a reasonable match for the blue in the DP, which I believe is Hawaiian Shores. It's not perfect, but close. Because I was too lazy to get out my DMC floss, I just used a black permanent marker and a white gel pen to draw the "thread" on my buttons. Ribbon is SU Kiwi Kiss. This is a very loud and proud card, not surprising for this color junkie! I thought it would make a good get well card. Hope everyone is having a great day and getting some stamping in!

Cricut Scene Swap # 2

Here are the elements of my "Under the Sea" scene for THIS swap on SCS. This was more complicated than the Western scene (last post) because there were a lot more layers involved. I Cuttlebugged the shark and octopus and added googly eyes. There are plastic gems on the treasure chest, and I stamped paisley on the pirate skull's bandana. This was super fun to do! I really like this cartridge, and I wasn't even planning to get it. Mikes had a 2 for 1 special and I told Emily she could pick one out. I wanted Walk in my Garden, but this is the one she picked. Now I'm glad she did! Thanks for looking.

Cricut Scene Swap # 1

This is the Western scene I created for THIS swap over on SCS. All shapes are created with the Old West cartridge except for the buffalo (My World) and moon (Accent Essentials). I outlined all the shapes with Cricut markers, then cut out. The buffalo is cut out of velveteen paper, so he is fuzzy, very cool. I stamped a paisley on the coyote's bandana. The snake is out of scale with the rest of the pieces, but oh well. Cacti are cut out of textured Wild Wasabi. There is a cow skull which I forgot to include in the pic. The saddle is separate from the fence. I had so much fun making these! I hope the other swappers are pleased. Thanks for stopping by!
