Mojo Monday Week 97

Good afternoon all! Here is my card for the Mojo 97 challenge. All supplies are SU except for the yellow layer (Summer Sunrise from PTI) and the alphabet (Karen Foster Snap Stamps). DSP is Good Morning Sunshine (retired). CS colors are Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss (ret.) I painted the chipboard bird's beak and feet yellow and the edges of the rest of him blue to match the paper. Painted his eye black and added a little crystal effects to make it shiny. Die cut is Sizzix from SU. I am in the process of decorating a clock from Kaiser Craft with this paper and when I saw today's Mojo sketch, thought it would be good for this little bird. Thanks for stopping by!

Summery Picnic Card

I have been having a ton of fun with the Vintage Picnic set from PTI! Sorry but you're probably going to be seeing a lot more of it!

Here I used Lauren's My Time Sketch 20. I stamped the flowers in brown on vanilla, colored them with Stampin' Pastels. Basket is stamped on Creamy Caramel. DP is retired SU but looks fab with the Melon Berry base. Punched scallop circle is Summer Sunrise. Buttons and jute are PTI. Sent. is from Birthday Basics.

Hope you have time for a picnic sometime soon!

Text Box Text Style--July Blog Hop

It's time for another PTI Blog Hop! You can read all about it HERE. This month's challenge was to use text in some way on your project. I chose to use the set Background Basics Text Style and my first PTI love, Text Boxed. Using text lends itself to emboss resist, as does Text Boxed. I stamped the text BG in Palette Burnt Umber on cream CS, then clear embossed the leaf image over it and brayered with Ripe Avocado, trimmed, matted with Ripe Avocado CS. I used my Long Rectangle Nestie to emboss the cream layer on my card front, nestled the focal piece into it, and stamped the sent. which is from Out on a Limb Sents. I stamed the same BG on an old PTI stamp box in Timber Brown Stazon, let it dry, then die cut it with SU's butterfly die. I put some adhesive pearls down the middle for the butterfly's body and attached with foam tape. I love how this turned out and I'm very proud of it! I hope you like it too and that it inspires you to use text on your projects. Can't wait to see what the other hoppers have created--there are always a TON of amazing projects!

Plum Picnic

Hi, all! Here is a card I made using PTI's Vintage Picnic set. I stamped the basket on Bitty Boxes DP, cut out, and colored the handles. Stamped the napkin on Lavender Moon CS with Plum Pudding ink, cut out and adhered to basket. Stamped tulips on white and colored with Stampin' Pastels and blender pens. I stamped the little doo-dad from Borders and Corners Oval (I think) in Plum on Lavender Moon and in Certainly Celery on the Cert. Cel. layer. DP is 12 x 12 Bitty Baby Blessings (ret.). Various buttons, Nestabilities, and SU ticket corner punch also used. This set is SO much fun to stamp with--I highly recommend it! Have a great day!

Hippity Hop

Good morning! This is a card I made from the background that I made for the round 3 PTI swap. It makes me think of lily pads so I made it into a frog card. Stamp sets are Pond Life and Simple Little Things by PTI. I used Guidelines 1 CS for the bg. Colors are Leaf Green and Berry Sorbet. Ribbon is retired SU, Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest, Nestabilities. I love Pond Life, it's one of my go-to sets. What's your favorite PTI set? Let me know!

Bundle of Joy with Buttons

This last release, PTI came out with a set where you use buttons as part of your stamped image. Very cute! But money is tight and I can't buy a new set every time I turn around. So I thought I'd try this instead! I thought it would be cute to have the elephant from Bitty Baby Blessings holding some balloons. My friend Banu (check out her blog here) sent me some buttons a few weeks ago so I am putting them to good use. I especially love the striped button at the top of the balloon bunch. I used a ruler and black marker to draw the strings. CS is Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, and Ocean Tides (for the ear). Used Borders and Corners Oval and the smallest oval Marvy scallop punch for the little tag at the bottom. Card front is embossed with CB Swiss Dots, and of course my favorite toy, Nesties, are used for the focal point. Elephant is stamped on Bitty Dots DP and cut out. Ribbon is PTI. I really am happy with how this card turned out--now I just need someone to have a baby so I can give it away. Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Tea and Sympathy

I know you all must get tired of my favorite color combo, Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush. But I can't help myself! I used several sets here (all PTI)--Around and About Sentiments, Beyond Basic Borders, both designed by Heather Nichols, and Everyday Classics (this year's anniversary set). Card base is Sweet Blush, stamped with "Get Well Soon" down the side in Sweet Blush. Other colors are Berry Sorbet and New Leaf. Stickles on flower centers and on scallops. Marvy scallop punch. Again, this card would be appropriate for the blog hop challenge, since it uses text in the BG. Hope you're all having a great week! Try to get some crafting time today!

Life is good!

Well, the PTI blog hop is in a few days (the 25th to be exact) and the challenge this month is to use text in some way on our creations. So I have been doing some experimenting. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I absolutely love this card! I was thinking about using it for my blog hop entry but I came up with another idea to use. I was playing around with the rock and roll technique and hit on inking up the flower in Berry Sorbet and rolling the edges in Pure Poppy. This is a gorgeous color combo--I'm sure I'm not the first to think of it LOL! The set is Life by PTI designed by Lisa Johnson. BG is Background Basics Text Style in Pure Poppy on Berry Sorbet CS, ribbon is Pure Poppy. Stem and leaf are inked with New Leaf, black doo-dads are from K & Co, bought a long time ago, don't know if they still make them. Nesties used for layers. Butterfly is a Martha Stewart Punch, with the text BG in red on berry sorbet. Rock and rolled the word "Life" as well.

This card is very similar to the first, a little simpler. Flower is done the same way, DP is Bitty Dots by PTI, scallop border punch by SU. Ribbon is black organdy, SU retired.
I have been having a lot of fun playing with all my PTI sets lately; I've been so busy recently I haven't had much time to stamp, but lots of ideas floating around in my head. Finally got a chance to put some together. Have a great day!

Vintage Picnic Christmas

It's Christmas in July! I recently got this wonderful set from PTI, Vintage Picnic. It has a variety of basket stamps, and a variety of stuff to put IN the baskets--something for every conceivable occasion! I loved this set the minute I saw it. Here I stamped my basket on SU Creamy Caramel and colored the details with my Stampin' Pastels and blender pens. Stamped the Christmas things on white, colored, then adhered the basket under them. You can stamp the basket on the same piece of CS as the contents; if you do this Nichole recommends stamping the contents first then the basket for ease of alignment. I tried it that way and it works beautifully. I used PTI Ripe Avocado for the card base and embossed it with the holly CB folder. The layers were die cut with Nestabilities--I just love those things, it's the easiest way to make your card look more professional. The DP is PTI Bitty Boxes. Ribbon and button are PTI. Hope you've enjoyed looking as much as I enjoyed creating. Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday Katie!

Hello, sorry it's been so long since I've posted! This is a card I made for Emily's friend Katie. Her birthday party is at Chuck E Cheese this evening. Can you give me a big ol' yay. Oh, well, Chucky notwithstanding, Katie is a sweet girl who is turning 7--she is in Emily's Daisy troop.

This image is from Elzybells. They just have the sweetest teddy bear stamps! I loved this one of them blowing bubbles. Sentiments on inside and out are PTI from Birthday Basics. CS is SU: Whisper White, Taken With Teal, Pink Pirouette, and Regal Rose. Ribbon and DP are retired SU. Butterfly is from Dew Drops! I couldn't believe it when I saw it in my LSS--I got the last bottle.

I have made some other cards, just have not had a chance to upload them yet. Maybe soon...take care and enjoy some stamping time!
