So, I've been guest hosting the 2009 PTI Swap Round 3 over on SCS. Tomorrow I start swapping out the cards. A new category we thought we'd try is backgrounds! The idea was to create an A2 sized background piece of CS using PTI stamps. The creations everyone has sent in are FABULOUS and can be seen HERE
Anyway, here is my BG. I used Berry Sorbet and New Leaf ink on Guideline I grid CS. Can I just say I LOVE this stuff--it makes stamping BG's soooo much easier. The water lily image is from Pond Life and the leaf image is from Simple Little Things, PTI's first anniversary set.
This is my full card for the swap. I used the first PTI set I ever bought, the one that started the craze! (For me anyway!) It's called Text Boxed and you can see what made me fall in love with the PTI style HERE. This card also uses Honey Bees, a set designed by Candice Aguilar. All products are PTI except scallop edge punch by SU. I also used the long scalloped rectangle die by Nestabilities. Here's a tip: The images from Text Boxed will layer perfectly on the 2nd smallest die if you trim right up to the edge of the image and then trim 1/8 inch off the bottom. Stamped in Summer Sunrise on Lemon Tart CS, layered on Dark Chocolate. Details and sentiment are stamped in Palette Burnt Umber, aka Dark Chocolate. I used the Guidelines II grid CS and I love the way my BG paper turned out!
I was experimenting with BG's to see which one I wanted to do for my swap. I came up with this one. Have you ever watched a nature show about bees? They come back to the hive and do a dance for the other bees to show what direction and how far away some flowers are. That's what this card reminds me of! Not thrilled with the layout here, but oh, well.
So, I hope you enjoyed these cards! Have a BEE-utiful day!
