This project is for an altered art swap I'm in over on SCS hosted by my friend Jen. I used a retired SU set that I love called Sketches. I also wanted to use watercolor paper and the brayered sky technique. I really like the effect of the brayered sky on the watercolor paper. I stamped my image in Palette Burnt Umber and masked it, then ripped a piece of scrap paper and used one half to mask the bottom while I brayered the sky (colors: Blush Blossom, Bordering Blue, Brocade Blue, and Not Quite Navy), and then used the other piece to mask the sky to brayer the sand (Sahara Sand). I used my Aqua Painter to water color the woman. Background is some retired SU paper that I love, Timeworn. I used some burlap ribbon from and shells from Mike's floral dept. I made my own rubon with Grafix Rub Onz; you can read all about them here. This turned out to be more trouble than it was worth as I could have just printed it on the kraft CS, but my original plan was to put it on my image or the BG paper. Anyway, I do like the way it turned out. Frame is from Wal-mart. I was going to use the glass but the shells stick out a bit too far. I really had fun making this. I hope people like it, but if they don't they can re-gift it or put it in a yard sale or something. Thanks for stopping by!
