Lauren over at MTME came out with several beautiful cut files during her last release, including poinsettias, holly, and these lovely autumn leaves. I imported the leaf files into SCAL and used my Cricut to cut them out of various patterned paper, mostly PTI, but the colorful leaf pattern is from last year's SU. I distressed the leaves with Soft Suede ink. Emily helped me, so some of them were a little more "distressed" than I might have made them, but I think it turned out pretty cool anyway. The brown leaves I sponged with Champagne Shimmer paint from SU. I liked the effect so much I sponged all the leaves with it! I hot glued the leaves to a grapevine wreath from Mike's. I cut out the "Happy Thanksgiving" from the Wild Card Cartridge at 10.5 " (fit to length), after first using a Cricut marker to outline to words, then sponged it with the shimmer paint--love that stuff! I had planned to add a bow, but after I got it finished, I wasn't so sure it needed one. Emily thinks it does though, and so in a bit we'll go to Mike's and see what they have in the way of autumn wired ribbon. If I add one I'll probably remove the cluster of leaves above and to the left of the sentiment and put the bow there.
